Irán ha anunciado que va a desarrollar un sistema operativo propio basado en soluciones abiertas.
Así es, parece ser que el gobierno de Ahmadinejad va a seguir el ejemplo de Rusia que ya declaró sus intenciones de desarrollar su propio sistema operativo con el fin de reducir la dependencia tecnológica. En el caso persa parece que las motivaciones al desarrollo de su propio sistema operativo vienen por los recientes ataques informáticos sufridos por su central nuclear. Aunque el desarrollo del sistema operativo era algo que ya se contemplaba, dichos ataques han contribuido a acelerar todo el proceso.
La idea es que el nuevo sistema operativo sea instalado en primer lugar en los centros industriales y otras organizaciones de carácter nacional y a continuación sería ofrecido a la población para su instalación en ordenadores personales.
Sin duda es una buena noticia porque siempre es agradable conocer que una administración pública apuesta por sistemas abiertos, aunque por otro lado dudo mucho que el gobierno iraní abra el código del sistema operativo que desarrolle. Más que nada teniendo en cuenta la política oscurantista de Ahmadinejad y compañía…
